aboutus Melissa Rae Photography is made up of the husband and wife team Melissa and Jared.  They are passionate about wedding photography and photography in general and they love working together.

Melissa and Jared love getting to know their couples, hearing their stories and photographing them in a way special to them.

Different perspective in photography…getting low or off camera flash photography are items that help differentiate yourself from others.

Utilizing Off Camera Flash – helps add depth to the image versus flattening out the photo.

Milestone Shot – Bride on Wedding day laying on a log in her wedding dress.  This was the first photo that Jared indicated that he shot that he liked.  Melissa was photographing from a different angle and Jared snapped the shot without posing the bride.

Every have the feeling of should I be somewhere taking a photo – Once in Edmonton we jumped into a fountain to take a photo and security came over, however, the security guard stated he would be off for ten minutes and walked away.

How do you stay sharp / on top of your game…any classes to gain more knowledge?  Sometimes you get into a mental rut and Melissa would come up with an idea for a challenge to expand the creativity.
